International Gender Champions
The Challenge
Software development to manage the data of hundreds of champions and seven worldwide hubs. Access for multiple user roles, user profile management, complex workflows, approvals processes and a sophisticated admin UI. Web app integration with a new modern and friendly public-facing website.
The Solution
Multi stakeholder workshop in Geneva followed by detailed analysis. Development of a PHP web application for enhanced performance and future adaptability. Implementation of a simple workflow for easy administration.
Scale and Performance
Web app users include senior staff at organisations such as the UN, government ambassadors, and business leaders across the world. When IGC first approached us, they had a WordPress site that was reaching its limits, had no facility for sophisticated workflows and poor performance. One of our main aims was that the site gave a great user experience. Cue clean code that responds quickly to inputs and changes in filters.
Backend Engineering
You might have noticed the site is fast. We established an advanced, framework-based back-end, built on a PHP framework. We wanted to ensure site managers could effortlessly oversee content, list events, and distribute resources in a structured way - Especially important give the global user base. Have a look at the Resources page to get a feel for the search speed.
Brand and Design
Aligned with the current branding, we revamped the styling for the digital space. Our design and UX team created a prototype, outlining user flows. These were shared with the client, allowing them to experience our ideas and view the designs as a user would. With the site being used by so many people across the world (seven worldwide hubs), it is important to use clear and simple signposting in the design.
